A Para1netri.e Formulation of the UTD Diffraction Coefficients for a Dielectric Wedget

چکیده
Appropriate formulation of the UTD diffracted field is important for propagation prediction. Among the wedge. diffraction solutions for nonperfectly conducting surfaces in the literature, exact formulations are mostly based on Maliuzhinets's derivation [1] and are computationally prohibitive for practical applications. On the other hand, heuristic formulations, modified from the UTD diffraction coefficient in (2], enables fast evaluation. Among them, perhaps Luebbers' model (3] is the most widely used. Although this method offers easy implementation, it generally does not yield accurate estimation of diffracted field in the shadow region. This is detrimental to path-loss prediction for wireless communication systems [ 4].

AN Improved UTD Based Model For The Multiple Building Diffraction Of Plane Waves In Urban Environments By Using Higher Order Diffraction Coeficients
This paper describes an improved model for multiple building diffraction modeling based on the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). A well-known problem in conventional uniform theory of diffraction (CUTD) is multiple-edge transition zone diffraction. Here, higher order diffracted fields are used in order to improve the result; hence, we use higher order diffraction coefficients to improve a hy...

Abstract A high frequency asymptotic technique based on the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) is employed for building interior imaging. The analysis is implemented using a set of heuristic diffraction coefficients for dielectric wedges and corners with ray-tracing that accounts for multiple through-wall interactions within building. Comparisons with experimental data of the images formed by ...

The uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) plus an imposed edge diffraction extension is used to predict the backscatter cross sections of dihedral corner reflectors which have right, obtuse, and acute included angles. UTD allows individual backscattering mechanisms of the dihedral corner reflectors to be identified and provides good agreement w?ith experimental cross section measurements in the a...

متن کاملAsymptotic solutions for scattered field by a coated conducting cylinder
We derive the novel asymptotic solutions for the scattered field when a cylindrical wave is incident on a coated conducting cylinder with a thin lossy dielectric material. We show that the extended UTD (uniform geometrical theory of diffraction) solution and the modified UTD solution derived by retaining the second order term are uniformly applicable in the transition region near the shadow bou...
